The following video has been posted on the web site of psycho-environmental group, Greenpeace:
On the web page as well as the banner covering a large portion of Mt. Rushmore, Greenpeace blathers on about honoring America’s leaders, not politicians.
In principle, I agree with their assessment. Barack Obama is no leader. He is an ideologue, wholly committed to special interest groups, like Greenpeace, instead of the principles upon which this nation was founded. He cannot speak without prompts, cannot make decisions without polls, cannot lead without consensus. He is no Lincoln, Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, or Washington. Not even close.
To point out this fact, Greenpeace took it upon themselves to attach a giant photo of Obama to one of the most hallowed places in the United States. To exhort their Messiah to fix a climate problem which doesn’t exist, they have desecrated the epitomes of true American leadership.
George Washington was the founder of the greatest nation in the history of the world who voluntarily gave up power to maintain the free Republic of the United States. Thomas Jefferson helped pen the words of the Declaration and was a staunch advocate for the rights of man. Abraham Lincoln was as gifted a leader as the nation has known, despite his humble beginnings, as he reforged a nation with compassion. Theodore Roosevelt was a leader in every sense, who never asked others to do what he himself had not done or would not attempt.
Greenpeace is apparently ready to place Barack Obama among these pillars of American history, if only he would fight global warming, a myth that a growing scientific consensus is speaking out against. Should Obama guide his policies, including cap-and-tax, through the Congress and unleash them upon the American people, his likeness may indeed be reproduced by posterity, but it will be done by our children and grandchildren, who will likely burn him in effigy for selling their birthright for a bowl of soup.
Why are illegal acts celebrated now? This is monstrous!
Monstrous is an excellent adjective to describe this travesty.

“He cannot speak without prompts, cannot make decisions without polls, cannot lead without consensus,” basically describes every single politician for the last forty years or more.
Secondly, you didn’t take a good look at the sign, they’re not giving Obama any love, they’re trying to get him to support their cause because he hasn’t been so far. His picture is on it because he’s the president.
Barack Obama has made a commitment to control the world’s temperature tonight, which will definitely be a test of his godlike ability. I would say that’s putting his support squarely behind the ideology Greenpeace would advocate.
How one could not take a good look at that sign is questionable. Thanks for enlightening us as to who is currently serving in the Oval Office. The sign, however, was obviously not so much a scathing review of Obama as it was a sacrilegious attempt at nudging their guy in their chosen direction. No president has been more receptive to the idea of squelching productivity in favor of extremist environmental concerns than Obama. Greenpeace obviously knows this as well.
You’re right about one thing: no recent politician, with the possible exception of Reagan, has truly been a leader. Their pictures are also not being placed on Mt. Rushmore. Obama just happens to be the epitome of the talking head, and, as you have so intelligently pointed out, he is the current president, and his picture is on the banner, so he gets the brunt of my written assault.
