How long did we expect the government of Iran to allow the protests to go on without invoking violence against them?

VIEWER DISCRETION ADVISED! The following are some of the latest amateur videos out of Iran showing that the government has apparently authorized the use of deadly force.
“The Iranian government must understand that the world is watching,” said the president in a White House statement. “We mourn each and every innocent life that is lost. We call on the Iranian government to stop all violent and unjust actions against its own people.”
Obama said America stands by all those who would seek to exercise the “universal” rights to assembly and free speech. Maybe he should deliver the same statement to the Department of Homeland Security, the Justice Department, and the Defense Department.
